Ingredients

  • 8 oz. wide noodles
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 c. tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 c. cottage cheese
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. green pepper
  • 1/4 c. ripe olives

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Butter a 3-quart baking dish; cook and drain noodles.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet, sauté ground beef until browned, then stir in tomato sauce and flour; simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Combine cottage cheese, sour cream, salt, chopped onion, green pepper, and chopped olives in a bowl.
  5. Layer half the noodles in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Spread the cottage cheese mixture over the noodles.
  7. Add the remaining noodles on top, then cover with the ground meat mixture.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes, then let stand about 10 minutes before serving.
