Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 sticks margarine
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped
  • 1 cup dates, chopped
  • 1 cup Angel Flake coconut

Instructions

  1. Cream margarine and brown sugar together until smooth.
  2. Add eggs and mix well.
  3. Incorporate flour, salt, and baking powder into the mixture.
  4. Mix thoroughly until combined.
  5. Stir in chopped nuts, chopped dates, and coconut until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan, pressing down with a spoon if necessary.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool, then cut into squares.
  9. Roll each square in powdered sugar before serving.
