- Cream margarine and brown sugar together until smooth.
- Add eggs and mix well.
- Incorporate flour, salt, and baking powder into the mixture.
- Mix thoroughly until combined.
- Stir in chopped nuts, chopped dates, and coconut until evenly distributed.
- Pour the mixture into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan, pressing down with a spoon if necessary.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool, then cut into squares.
- Roll each square in powdered sugar before serving.
