Ingredients

  • 2 (10 oz.) packages frozen chopped broccoli
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or oleo
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 2 cups cooked turkey, cut in strips
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. melted oleo

Instructions

  1. Prepare broccoli according to package directions and drain well.
  2. Mix the cooked broccoli with lemon juice and spread in a 9-inch round baking dish.
  3. In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter or oleo.
  4. Blend in flour and salt, then add milk all at once.
  5. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and bubbles.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in shredded Swiss cheese until melted.
  7. Add cooked turkey strips to the cheese sauce.
  8. Spoon the turkey mixture over the broccoli in the baking dish.
  9. Combine bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, and melted oleo.
  10. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the casserole.
  11. Bake in a 350°F oven for 20 to 25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
