Ingredients

  • 6 c. ground meat, cooked
  • 14 c. ground apples
  • 2 lb. raisins
  • 2 lb. currants
  • 4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 2 tsp. plain salt
  • 1/2 lb. ground suet
  • 1 qt. vinegar
  • 6 c. meat stock
  • 1 lemon (juice and rind)
  • 1 orange (juice and rind)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
  2. Cook over low heat for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  3. Pour the hot mincemeat into sterilized jars and seal.
