Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 large bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
  • 2 cans water
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 3 Tbsp. cumin
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • hot sauce to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef with chopped onions, chopped bell pepper, chopped celery, and minced garlic. Drain off excess fat.
  2. Combine the cooked mixture with kidney beans, tomatoes, tomato paste, water, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  3. Simmer over low heat for 1 hour, adding water as needed to reach desired consistency.
  4. Serve hot with crackers.
