- Mix 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons of flour, margarine or butter, and cream cheese with a fork to make the dough.
- Form the dough into 24 small balls and press them into small muffin tins with fingers.
- Mix the remaining ingredients: brown sugar, 2 tablespoons melted butter, vanilla, egg, salt, and chopped pecans or walnuts.
- Fill the muffin tins with the mixture not quite full.
- Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, being careful as they will be very hot.
