Ingredients

  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 1 (3 oz.) package cream cheese
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Instructions

  1. Mix 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons of flour, margarine or butter, and cream cheese with a fork to make the dough.
  2. Form the dough into 24 small balls and press them into small muffin tins with fingers.
  3. Mix the remaining ingredients: brown sugar, 2 tablespoons melted butter, vanilla, egg, salt, and chopped pecans or walnuts.
  4. Fill the muffin tins with the mixture not quite full.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, being careful as they will be very hot.
