White Lasagna
Creamy and hearty white lasagna layered with chicken, mushrooms, asparagus, ham, and cheeses, perfect for family dinners or special occasions craving comfort food.
Ingredients
- 8 oz. lasagna noodles ⓘ
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 1/3 cup flour ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon minced dried onion ⓘ
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder ⓘ
- 2 cups chicken broth ⓘ
- 1 cup milk ⓘ
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese ⓘ
- 1 (4 oz.) can chopped mushrooms, drained ⓘ
- 1 (10 oz.) package frozen asparagus, thawed and drained ⓘ
- 2 cups cooked chicken or turkey, cubed ⓘ
- 8 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese ⓘ
- 6 oz. thinly sliced cooked ham ⓘ
- 1/2 cup Parmesan or Romano cheese ⓘ
Instructions
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions and drain.
- In a saucepan, melt margarine over medium heat; blend in flour, minced dried onion, garlic powder, and pepper.
- Add chicken broth and milk; cook and stir until bubbly.
- Stir in 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese and drained chopped mushrooms.
- In a 9 x 13-inch baking dish, layer half of the cooked noodles, all of the thawed and drained asparagus, cubed cooked chicken, and shredded mozzarella cheese, then pour in one-third of the milk mixture.
- Top with sliced cooked ham, remaining noodles, and the remaining cheese.
- Bake uncovered in a 350°F oven for 35 minutes.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
