Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lb. beef tenderloin
  • 1/2 cup wine (red, Port, sherry, or cooking wine)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • little chopped onion
  • little chopped parsley
  • oregano to taste
  • basil to taste
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Heat the wine, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, oregano, basil, salt, butter, and water to make the sauce.
  2. Leave the tenderloin whole and form it into a log shape, folding under the thin end.
  3. Tie the tenderloin with string about 4 to 5 times to hold its shape.
  4. Cook the tenderloin as desired, then serve with the warm sauce.
