3-Way Chili
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. oil ⓘ
- 1 c. chopped onion ⓘ
- 1 c. chopped sweet pepper ⓘ
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped fine ⓘ
- 1/2 c. water ⓘ
- 1 lb. lean ground beef ⓘ
- 1/4 c. chili powder ⓘ
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. ground allspice ⓘ
- 28 oz. can tomatoes in puree, chopped ⓘ
- 4 oz. can mild green chilies, drained and chopped ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar ⓘ
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 1 tsp. sugar ⓘ
- 16 oz. spaghetti ⓘ
- 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese ⓘ
- 1/4 c. finely chopped green onion ⓘ
- oyster crackers ⓘ
Instructions
- Heat oil in Dutch oven. Add onion, green pepper and garlic; cook over medium-low heat until vegetables are tender, 8 minutes. If too dry, add water, 1/4 cup at a time. Add beef, chili powder, cinnamon and allspice. Cook, stirring, until meat is no longer pink, 10 minutes. Add tomatoes, chilies, vinegar, salt and sugar. Cover and simmer 1 hour. Cook spaghetti according to package; drain.
