Ingredients

  • 5 oz. old fashioned noodles
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 16 oz. tomato sauce (2 cans)
  • 3 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions.
  2. Drain the cooked noodles.
  3. In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned.
  4. Drain excess fat from the beef.
  5. Add minced garlic, salt, pepper, and tomato sauce to the beef.
  6. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes.
  7. In a separate bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sliced green onions, cottage cheese, and shredded Cheddar cheese.
  8. Place half of the cooked noodles in the bottom of a buttered 2-quart casserole dish.
  9. Top with half of the meat sauce and half of the cheese mixture.
  10. Repeat the layers with the remaining noodles, meat sauce, and cheese mixture.
  11. Sprinkle the top with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  12. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
