Delicious baked crab cakes with tender crab meat, flavorful spices, and a crispy cracker crumb coating, perfect for elegant starters or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 pound crab meat
  • 1/2 cup chopped sweet onions
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 egg
  • cracker crumbs

Instructions

  1. Saute onion and green pepper in butter or margarine; do not brown. Cool completely.
  2. Add Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, paprika, mayonnaise, and beaten egg; mix well.
  3. Gently fold in crab meat.
  4. Shape the mixture into patties and coat with cracker crumbs.
  5. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.
  6. Bake in a preheated 450°F oven until lightly browned.
