Ingredients

  • 7 oz. spaghetti
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2/3 c. instant nonfat dry milk powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 2 c. water

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain.
  2. Mix half the onion soup mix, 1 tablespoon flour, and sour cream in a bowl.
  3. Stir the mixture into the cooked spaghetti.
  4. Spoon the spaghetti mixture into a 2-quart buttered casserole, making a well in the center.
  5. Brown ground beef in butter in a skillet, stirring occasionally; remove from heat.
  6. Add 1/4 cup flour, dry milk powder, salt, pepper, and remaining onion soup mix; mix well.
  7. Gradually stir in water.
  8. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
  9. Spoon the meat sauce onto the center of the spaghetti in the casserole.
  10. Top with bread crumbs or crushed crackers.
  11. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes or until crumbs are browned.
