Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 or 4 lb. shoulder roast
  • 1 cup catsup
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup brown sugar (packed firm)
  • 1 or 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • sandwich buns (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the shoulder roast in a large Dutch oven.
  2. Add salted water until the roast is fully covered.
  3. Cover and cook over medium heat for 2 to 2½ hours, or until the pork is tender.
  4. Drain the cooking liquid and slice the roast thinly.
  5. Transfer the sliced pork to a 2‑quart baking dish.
