Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 vegetable bouillon cube
  • 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup T.V.P.
  • 2 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine boiling water and vegetable bouillon cube in a bowl, stirring until the cube is dissolved.
  2. Add chopped onion, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, barbecue sauce, and olive oil to the hot water mixture; stir well.
  3. Stir in T.V.P. into the mixture and let it sit for 5 minutes to absorb flavors.
  4. Add bread crumbs and egg white to the T.V.P. mixture, mixing thoroughly until well combined.
  5. Form the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet or grill.
  6. Cook the T.V.P. balls on a preheated grill or in an oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 20 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and firm.
