Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • dash of pepper
  • 2 lb. boneless rump roast
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 medium green pepper
  • 1 can bean and bacon soup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp. brown gravy base
  • 4 to 6 carrots
  • sliced onions

Instructions

  1. Coat the roast with flour, salt, paprika, and pepper.
  2. Brown the seasoned roast in oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven.
  3. Combine the bean and bacon soup, water, and brown gravy base in a bowl.
  4. Pour the soup mixture over the browned roast.
  5. Cover and simmer for 1 hour and 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add halved carrots, sliced onions, and green pepper to the pot.
  7. Continue baking or simmering for another 45 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
