Beef Kidney Pie
Ingredients
- 4 pie crusts ⓘ
- 2 lb. round steak ⓘ
- 1/2 c. flour ⓘ
- 1/4 c. cooking oil ⓘ
- 6 Tbsp. butter ⓘ
- 1 beef kidney ⓘ
- 1/2 c. water ⓘ
- 1 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 1/2 c. chopped onion ⓘ
- 1 clove garlic ⓘ
- 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 1 tsp. dried thyme leaves ⓘ
- 1/4 tsp. pepper ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
- 1/2 c. red cooking wine ⓘ
Instructions
- Prepare pie crusts and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Cut round steak into 2 x 1-inch strips.
- Roll in 1/4 cup flour; shake off excess.
- Brown in cooking oil and butter, turning with tongs until well done on all sides, about 25 minutes.
- Brown only enough meat each time to cover bottom of skillet.
