Ingredients

  • 8 oz. shell macaroni
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 can tomato puree
  • 1 can water
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 lb. American cheese, cubed
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Cook the shell macaroni in boiling water according to package directions.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet; add chopped onion and green pepper, and simmer for a few minutes.
  3. Add tomato puree, water, mushroom soup, cooked macaroni, salt, and cubed American cheese to a casserole dish.
  4. Sprinkle bread crumbs on top.
  5. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
