Instructions
- Place beef between sheets of wax paper and pound with a heavy skillet until quite thin.
- Cut the pounded beef into serving size pieces.
- In a shallow dish, combine bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, and water to make an egg wash.
- Dredge each beef piece in flour, then dip into the egg mixture, and coat with breadcrumb mixture.
- In a skillet, heat cooking oil over medium heat and cook the breaded beef until browned on both sides.
- Remove beef and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté minced onion until translucent.
- Add tomato paste, hot water, dried marjoram, salt, and pepper. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
- Return the beef to the skillet, spoon sauce over the top, and simmer for additional 10-15 minutes until cooked through and flavors meld.
