Ingredients

  • 3 lb beef, cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 2 cans beef broth (10 1/2 oz each)
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons paprika

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, salt, and pepper; coat beef cubes with the mixture.
  2. Save leftover flour for later use.
  3. In a Dutch oven, heat 3 tablespoons of oil and brown the beef cubes. Add more oil if needed.
  4. Add chopped onions, celery, green pepper, and garlic; sauté until tender.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the leftover flour until well blended.
  6. Slowly stir in canned tomatoes, beef broth, tomato paste, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and salt.
  7. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring as needed.
  8. Reduce heat to low and simmer covered for 2 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender.
  9. Serve hot with rice, large noodles, or buttered potatoes.
