Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. ground sausage
  • 2 chopped medium onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans mushrooms, drained
  • butter
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of celery soup
  • 2 (10 oz.) packages chopped spinach, thawed
  • 1 Tbsp. uncooked rice
  • 2 c. dairy sour cream
  • 1 (12 oz.) package shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and ground sausage with minced garlic. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a small skillet, brown chopped onions in butter with dried basil and oregano.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked meats, browned onions, drained mushrooms, condensed cream of celery soup, thawed chopped spinach, cooked rice, sour cream, shredded Mozzarella cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to an oblong baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded Mozzarella cheese and dot with butter.
  7. Bake for about 40 minutes or until slightly browned and bubbly.
