Beef Strips With Vermicelli

Ingredients
- 8 oz. boneless beef top round steak ⓘ
- 4 oz. vermicelli or spaghetti ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. cooking oil ⓘ
- 1 medium onion ⓘ
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomato wedges ⓘ
- 1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen Italian style green beans ⓘ
- 1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 (6 oz.) can Italian style tomato paste ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. fennel seed
- 1/2 tsp. pepper ⓘ
Instructions
- Partially freeze the beef to make it easier to slice.
- Trim excess fat from the beef.
- Thinly slice the beef across the grain into bite-sized strips.
- Cook the vermicelli or spaghetti according to package instructions.
- Drain the pasta and keep warm.
- In a skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
- Add the sliced beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
- Stir in the tomato wedges, green beans, sliced mushrooms, and tomato paste.
- Add fennel seed (if using) and pepper, then simmer until heated through and flavors meld.
