Ingredients

  • 2 (10 oz.) packages frozen broccoli
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced onion rings
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 3/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. instant chicken bouillon
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups cubed cooked ham

Instructions

  1. Cook the frozen broccoli according to package instructions and drain.
  2. Saute sliced onion rings in 3 tablespoons of butter until tender.
  3. Layer the cooked broccoli and sauteed onion in a 2-quart casserole dish.
  4. Sprinkle with seasoned salt.
  5. In a 2-quart saucepan, saute chopped celery in 1/4 cup of butter until tender.
  6. Stir in flour, instant chicken bouillon, and Worcestershire sauce.
  7. Remove from heat and gradually stir in milk.
  8. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  9. Boil for about 1 minute and then stir in cubed cooked ham.
  10. Spoon the sauce over the layered vegetables in the casserole dish.
  11. Bake at 325°F (165°C) for 30 minutes.
  12. Sprinkle with cheese and bake until the cheese is melted.
