Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 4 small green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 can (about 15 oz.) cream-style corn
  • 1/2 cup canned tomato sauce
  • 1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 3 large tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Cook crumbled beef, chopped green onions, and green pepper in cooking oil until browned, stirring frequently.
  2. Add salt, pepper, dry mustard, cream-style corn, and tomato sauce; simmer about 5 minutes.
  3. Add grated Cheddar cheese and heat until it melts.
  4. Toast hamburger buns and place one open bun on each plate.
  5. Put a slice of tomato on each half of the buns.
  6. Spoon the cheese-burger mixture over each prepared bun and serve.
