Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. celery, chopped
  • 1/4 c. onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 (5 1/2 oz.) can chow mein noodles
  • 1 (6 1/2 oz.) can tuna, drained
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3/4 c. salted cashews

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add chopped celery, onion, and green pepper to the skillet.
  4. Cook and stir until the onion is tender.
  5. Reserve 1/4 cup of chow mein noodles and stir in the remaining ingredients: the drained tuna, cream of mushroom soup, milk, water, pepper, and remaining chow mein noodles.
  6. Pour the mixture into an ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
  7. Sprinkle the reserved chow mein noodles over the top.
  8. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes until heated through and bubbly.
