Tips & Substitutions
For a richer flavor, consider using a mix of mushrooms, such as cremini and shiitake. If you're short on time, pre-cooked rotisserie chicken works well as a substitute for the raw chicken. To add a bit of spice, a pinch of red pepper flakes can be included. This recipe can also be easily adapted to be vegetarian by omitting the chicken and bacon, using more vegetables instead.
Serving Suggestions
Serve this Chicken-Mushroom Lasagna with a side of garlic bread and a fresh green salad for a complete meal. A light Italian red wine, like Chianti, pairs beautifully with this dish. This recipe is great for meal prep; consider making a double batch to enjoy later. For additional flavor, sprinkle fresh herbs like basil or parsley before serving.
Storage & Reheating
Leftover lasagna can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. To reheat, cover with foil and warm in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 20 minutes, or until heated through. For quicker reheating, individual portions can be microwaved for 2-3 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use other types of cheese in this lasagna?
Yes, you can substitute other cheeses based on your preference. For example, Fontina or Gouda would add a nice flavor. If you want a sharper taste, try aged white cheddar. Just be sure to keep the cheese amounts similar to maintain the creamy texture.
What can I use instead of white wine?
If you prefer not to use wine, chicken broth can be used as a substitute. Adding a splash of lemon juice can help mimic the acidity that wine would provide. Alternatively, you can use a splash of vinegar diluted with water for a similar effect.
Can I freeze leftover lasagna?
Absolutely! This lasagna freezes well. Allow it to cool completely, then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil. It can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months. To reheat, thaw in the refrigerator overnight and then bake as directed.
