- Mix 1 1/2 cups of flour and baking powder.
- Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add milk; mix lightly with a fork.
- Roll out dough to a rectangle, 1/2-inch thick.
- Spread cheese over the dough.
- Roll the dough long side up, like a jelly roll.
- Cut into pieces 3/4-inch thick.
- Place the pieces on top of the chicken mixture.
- Bake at 400°F until golden brown.
