Ingredients

  • 1 can choplets, chopped fine in food processor
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1 plain tofu
  • 2 tablespoons cooked soft bulgur
  • 1 large clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon finely diced red sweet pepper
  • 1 tablespoon finely diced celery
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme

Instructions

  1. Prepare tofu by cutting it into strips as in Tofu Salad Delight.
  2. Chop the can of choplets finely in a food processor.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine chopped choplets, chopped onion, chopped celery, bread crumbs, chopped walnuts, eggs, ground sage, finely chopped garlic, salt, cayenne pepper, diced red sweet pepper, diced celery, and thyme.
  4. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  5. Form the mixture into patties of desired size.
  6. Coat each patty with whole wheat flour, plain white flour, or cornmeal as preferred.
  7. Cook the patties by frying, baking, or pan-searing until golden brown and cooked through.
