Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 large onion, chopped
  • 1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 large can tomato paste
  • 1 can water
  • 1 large can tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Place oil in a heavy pan over heat; add chopped onion and green pepper and sauté until half cooked without browning.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until it starts to brown.
  3. Add tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water; stir and cook until grease turns red.
  4. Add Worcestershire sauce, prepared mustard, oregano, salt, garlic salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then lower heat to simmer.
  6. Cook for not less than 5 hours, stirring occasionally.
