Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 ribs celery, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced in rings
  • 3 carrots, sliced across
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 tsp basil
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 (8 oz) can mushrooms
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • liquid from mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Place half of the ground beef in the bottom of a shallow, greased casserole dish.
  2. Cover with half of the sliced carrots, celery, onions, and green pepper rings.
  3. Sprinkle with half of the basil, pepper, and salt.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining ground beef, vegetables, and seasonings.
  5. Top with the can of mushrooms.
  6. Mix the tomato soup with the liquid from the mushroom can and mushroom juice.
  7. Pour the mixture over all the ingredients in the casserole.
  8. Cover and bake at 350°F for 1.5 to 2 hours.
