Deep-Fried Stuffed Mushrooms

- Wash mushrooms and trim stems slightly.
- Remove stems from mushrooms and set caps aside.
- Finely chop the mushroom stems.
- In a small saucepan, combine chopped stems, 1 tablespoon butter, grated onion, parsley flakes, dried chives, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Cook and stir over medium heat until the mushroom caps are tender.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of bread crumbs.
- Fill mushroom caps with the stuffing mixture, packing firmly and mounding slightly.
- Dip stuffed mushrooms in beaten egg, then coat with remaining bread crumbs.
- Deep-fry in butter-flavored Crisco until golden brown.
