Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 3/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. green pepper
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar

Instructions

  1. Lightly mix ground beef, bread crumbs, green pepper, half of the tomato sauce, egg, and salt.
  2. Shape the mixture into a loaf in a shallow pan.
  3. Combine the remaining tomato sauce, water, brown sugar, mustard, and vinegar to make the glaze.
  4. Pour the glaze over the loaf.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  6. Baste the meatloaf several times during baking.
