Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Bob Evans original sausage
  • 8 eggs
  • 10 slices bread, cubed
  • 3 c. milk
  • 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 (10 oz.) frozen asparagus, thawed and drained
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine, melted
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the sausage; drain excess fat.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs.
  3. Add bread cubes, milk, cheese, mushrooms, asparagus, margarine, flour, dry mustard, basil, and salt to the eggs; mix well.
  4. Spoon the mixture into a greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  5. Cover the pan with plastic wrap or foil.
  6. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
  9. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
