Easy Gumbo

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup oil ⓘ
- 2 cups chopped onion ⓘ
- 1 cup chopped green bell pepper ⓘ
- 1 cup chopped celery ⓘ
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley ⓘ
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed ⓘ
- 1 (1 lb.) package frozen okra and tomatoes ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon pepper ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper ⓘ
- 2 bay leaves ⓘ
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 4 cups water ⓘ
- 1 package brown gravy mix ⓘ
- 2 cups chicken, ham, shrimp or smoked sausage ⓘ
Instructions
- Saute vegetables and seasonings in oil until soft.
- Add broth, water, and brown gravy mix.
- Cook one hour on simmer.
- Add meat; heat thoroughly.
- Serve over cooked rice.
