Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, salt, baking powder, soda, and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add buttermilk, oleo, and eggs to the dry ingredients.
  3. Beat on low speed until moistened, then beat on medium speed for 3 minutes.
  4. Spoon batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan.
  5. Combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, chopped nuts, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon; sprinkle over the batter.
  6. Cover and refrigerate overnight or for 8 to 12 hours.
  7. Uncover and bake in a 350°F oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
  8. To reheat, cover with foil and bake in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes.
