Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 6 cups hot cooked spaghetti
  • 1 oz. Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 15 oz. ground veal
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 cup canned tomatoes, cut up
  • 3/4 cup tomato paste
  • 2 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. dried basil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine butter and hot cooked spaghetti.
  2. Add Parmesan cheese and beaten eggs; mix well.
  3. Press the mixture into a crust in a 10-inch pie plate.
  4. Spread cottage cheese over the crust.
  5. In a skillet, brown ground veal with chopped onion and green pepper.
  6. Remove veal mixture from skillet; wipe skillet clean.
  7. Return veal to skillet and cook until done and vegetables are tender.
  8. Stir in canned tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, and basil; heat through.
  9. Pour the meat sauce into the pie crust.
  10. Bake uncovered at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
  11. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
  12. Bake an additional 5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
