Elegant pork chops with a flavorful wine and onion sauce, crispy breaded exterior, perfect for a refined dinner that pairs well with vegetables or potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • freshly ground pepper
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 4 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 large onion
  • 2/3 cup white wine
  • 1 can beef broth
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Crush the garlic and rub on both sides of the pork chops.
  2. Season the pork chops with freshly ground pepper.
  3. Dip the pork chops in flour.
  4. Beat the egg whites with 1 tablespoon of water.
  5. Place the pork chops in the egg whites mixture, then roll in seasoned bread crumbs.
  6. Refrigerate the breaded pork chops for 30 minutes.
  7. Brown the pork chops in 2 tablespoons of oil and 4 tablespoons of margarine.
  8. Remove the pork chops and place them in a square casserole dish.
  9. Lightly brown chopped onion in the remaining margarine in the pan.
  10. Add white wine, beef broth, and bay leaf to the pan, simmer for 2 minutes.
  11. Pour the sauce over the pork chops in the casserole dish.
  12. Cover and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  13. Remove the bay leaf and serve.
