- Spray loaf pan with non-stick spray or line with parchment paper.
- Cream margarine until fluffy.
- Beat in brown sugar and egg until well combined.
- Stir in milk and white vinegar.
- Gradually add sifted dry ingredients and blend until well mixed.
- Fold in chopped walnuts and chopped figs.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the center is firm.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then remove and cool completely.
- Slice thin and serve with butter or whipped cream cheese.
