Ingredients

  • 2 cups carrots
  • 2 cups potatoes
  • 1/2 cup onion
  • 1 cup celery
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 quarts milk
  • 1/2 pound grated process cheese
  • pinch of marjoram
  • 1 can green beans
  • 8 ounces cooked fish
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cube, cook, and drain carrots, potatoes, onion, and celery.
  2. Blend together the butter and flour to make a roux.
  3. Make a thin sauce by adding the butter mixture to the milk and bringing to a boil.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the grated process cheese and marjoram.
  5. Add the cooked vegetables and fish to the sauce.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Reheat gently before serving.
