Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 ounce instant rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 teaspoons margarine
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, apple pie spice, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. Add instant rolled oats to the sifted mixture, stirring to combine.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the dark brown sugar and margarine until well blended.
  5. Add eggs to the sugar and margarine mixture, beating until smooth.
  6. Stir in the diced mixed dried fruit and dark raisins.
  7. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, mixing well.
  8. Press the batter into a greased baking pan.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Remove from oven and allow to cool before cutting into bars.
  11. Dust with confectioners sugar before serving if desired.
