Fu'S Pepper Steak

Ingredients
- 1 lb. sirloin, cut into 1/4-inch thick pieces ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. beef suet ⓘ
- 1/4 cup chopped onion ⓘ
- 1 slice garlic ⓘ
- 1 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 1 bouillon cube ⓘ
- 1 cup hot water ⓘ
- 1 (16 oz.) can chopped tomatoes ⓘ
- 1 large green pepper, cut into thin strips ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch ⓘ
- 1/4 cup cold water ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce ⓘ
- 4 cups hot cooked rice ⓘ
Instructions
- Cut beef into serving pieces or narrow strips.
- Brown beef slowly in hot beef fat for about 15 minutes.
- Add chopped onion and garlic slice to the skillet.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir and cook for about 2 minutes longer.
- Dissolve bouillon cube in hot water.
- Add the bouillon mixture to the meat.
- Cover the skillet and let simmer until meat is almost done, about 20 to 30 minutes.
- Cook for an additional 10 minutes.
- Remove garlic slice from the skillet.
- Uncover the skillet and add a mixture of cornstarch, cold water, and soy sauce; stir well.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and cook for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot over cooked rice.
