Gail'S Banana Nut Bread

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/3 c. mashed bananas (3 medium)
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 3/4 c. chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Combine butter and sugar thoroughly.
  2. Blend in bananas, eggs and vanilla.
  3. Sift flour, baking soda and salt.
  4. Add to banana mixture, alternating after each addition.
  5. Add nuts; mix.
  6. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
  7. Bake at 350° for 1 to 1 1/4 hours.
