Geri'S Beef And Cabbage Soup

Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef ⓘ
- 1 medium onion, chopped ⓘ
- 1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes with juice ⓘ
- 8 c. water ⓘ
- 2 beef flavored bouillon cubes ⓘ
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1 bay leaf ⓘ
- 1 c. coarsely chopped cabbage ⓘ
- 3/4 c. diced celery ⓘ
- 1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables ⓘ
- 1 can dark kidney beans, drained ⓘ
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet, then drain well and set aside.
- In a large pot, combine the tomatoes, water, bouillon cubes, garlic salt, black pepper, bay leaf, cabbage, onion, celery, Worcestershire sauce, and mixed vegetables.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low or medium and cook for 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
- Add the drained kidney beans and cooked beef to the soup.
- Simmer for an additional 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until flavors meld and ingredients are heated through.
