Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground raw turkey
  • 1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans pinto beans
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 15 oz. can tomatoes, cut up
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, cook ground turkey, onion, green pepper, and garlic until meat is no longer pink and vegetables are tender. Drain.
  2. Stir in undrained pinto beans, undrained tomatoes, brown sugar, salt, and pepper; bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low.
  4. Cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
  5. Ladle into bowls.
  6. Top with shredded cheese, if desired.
