Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. hot sausage
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (8 oz.) macaroni
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 1/4 teaspoon basil
  • 2 large jalapeno peppers, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onion in a large pot.
  2. Brown the hot sausage and ground beef, then drain excess fat.
  3. Add the cooked meat and all other ingredients to the pot and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Cook the macaroni until al dente, then drain and rinse with hot water.
  5. Add the cooked macaroni and raisins to the pot and cook on medium heat for an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
