Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 cup turkey broth or chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 slices bread, toasted
  • sliced turkey
  • paprika
  • 8 slices tomato
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked
  • parsley

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan and stir in the flour; cook over low heat, blending until smooth.
  2. Stir in salt and white pepper.
  3. Gradually add turkey or chicken broth and milk; cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce is smooth and thickened.
  4. Add Parmesan cheese and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Toast bread slices and layer with sliced turkey and tomato.
  6. Pour the hot cheese sauce over the assembled sandwiches.
  7. Top with cooked bacon, paprika, and parsley.
  8. Serve hot.
