Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef ⓘ
- 1/4 c. cold water ⓘ
- 3/4 tsp. seasoned salt ⓘ
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. minced parsley ⓘ
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour ⓘ
- 1 egg ⓘ
- 1/4 c. fine dry bread crumbs ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. oil ⓘ
- 4 slices Mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese ⓘ
- 1 c. spaghetti sauce ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese ⓘ
Instructions
- Mix lightly together the beef, water, seasoned salt, black pepper, and minced parsley with hands.
- Shape into 4 patties, about 3/4-inch thick.
- Coat both sides of patties with all-purpose flour.
- Dip patties into the beaten egg, then into dry bread crumbs.
- Brown the patties quickly in hot oil on both sides in a skillet.
- Arrange the browned patties in a shallow 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
- Put a slice of cheese on each patty.
- Pour spaghetti sauce over the patties.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake at 400°F for about 25 minutes.
- Garnish with minced parsley before serving.
