Ingredients

  • 1 chicken, stewed
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup dry noodles
  • 1 cup dry spaghetti
  • 5 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 5 Tbsp flour
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 small can mushrooms
  • 1 small jar pimentos

Instructions

  1. Stew chicken with sliced onion until tender.
  2. Let cool, remove from bones, and cut into pieces.
  3. Cook dry noodles and spaghetti in chicken broth until tender.
  4. Make gravy by melting butter, then stirring in flour and broth to form a sauce.
  5. Add cream of mushroom soup, mushrooms, and pimentos to the gravy.
  6. Combine cooked noodles and chicken with the sauce.
  7. Pour mixture into a greased baking dish.
  8. Cut cheese into slices and place on top.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour until bubbly and golden.
  10. Optional: add cooked rice and bread crumbs on top before baking.
