- Boil salt meat until tender in 3 quarts of water.
- Boil fish; remove bones and add to the stock.
- Add crabs or conch to the pot.
- Put spinach, okra (stems and tips removed), onion, and garlic through a grinder.
- Add the ground mixture to the stock and boil rapidly for about 30 minutes.
- Add vinegar to prevent the appearance of slime.
- Do not skim while boiling.
- Serve hot with fungi.
