Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. old fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 c. Rice Krispies
  • 1 c. coconut or nuts or half and half of each

Instructions

  1. Cream together shortening, white sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  2. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; then add to the creamed mixture.
  3. Mix in the rolled oats, Rice Krispies, and coconut or nuts.
  4. With buttered hands, mold the mixture into balls about the size of walnuts.
  5. Place the balls on a greased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
