- Mix together ground beef, 1 egg, half of the dry onion soup mix, 2-3 tablespoons soy sauce, pepper, garlic powder, and moistened bread slices.
- Shape the mixture into 4 patties.
- Cook the patties in a large skillet until browned and cooked through.
- Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside, leaving any drippings in the skillet.
- Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Combine flour with the remaining dry soup mix and add to the skillet.
- Stir in 3 cups water and bring to a boil.
- Add bouillon cubes and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly until the gravy reaches desired thickness.
- While gravy simmers, fry the remaining 4 eggs sunny-side up or over easy in another skillet and set aside.
- Place a generous amount of cooked white rice into each of 4 bowls.
- Top each bowl with a hamburger patty.
- Place one fried egg on top of each patty.
- Cover the rice, hamburger, and egg with the brown gravy generously.
